Chosen DPS Photo

I have chosen to use this photo because I think it is as a great angel and the black and white works great and highlights the 80’s theme, it represents a typical British rock band in a typical British pub just doing there thing. I think it catches the emotion in the artists face and shows that good music is being made! I think this photo leaves a lot of clear space therefore inserting things such as captions will be easily fitted and also not take away the main focus of this image. I was unfortunately unable to take photos on the underground because it is illegal, however I'm still going to try and do some persuading so I might be able to take some pictures there fore my TOC because I think a British magazine needs 3 things pubs, great music and London underground!

London Underground Photography

So Basically i have researched and choosen some photos whichi  tink help set the foundations and backgrounds for what i want my DPS to look like :

I like how this space shows a great spaical dynamatic and colours help to empasis the tunnel closing in , the lighting at the end could also be symbloic for a tunnel of light , a bit like every cloud has a silver lining and as if heaven awaits and the end of this tunnel which represents a journey. 

I like how this picture represents an old and sort of 'doctor who' scifi kind of theme

I love the colour contrast of this image and this simple placement and emptyness which is unusal for the underground.

The Beatles : Black and White

So black and and white is coming back and is used for rock , like my DPS analysis I like the idea of using black and white as well as good lighting and shaddow to highlight important body parts and places. Something that stands out to me at the moment is that the beatles are now avaible on itunes and here is there cover :

notice anything? black and white , and because this represents their time and how they live and how their eairler life was structed I would like to use a black and white photogrpah

To portray a british magazine I wanted to look and take my photograghs of places that represent and stand for britain - what makes us , us. therefore I am currently looking into London photography , mainly at london underground and subways to show the hidden places where artists and bands grew up , as we know for a fact many great artists and bands did not start off rich and with a golden guitar.

As you can see my reasearch into subway photography as shown that most of these photos are in black and white. This accoacites with an eairler time in histroy and all could conote to a deep emotional process of blank or maybe dark thinking. Based on my ideas for my artile , colour is very important to portray the nessaties and subconscious effect the audience have to the colours because ofcourse the contrast of black and white if very powerful.
